The Volkshotel, situated in the former newspaper headquarters has 172 rooms which vary from small and basic rooms to 9 different designer rooms. Some of them with fully glass-wall bathrooms, and you’ll find a hint of the history of the building everywhere. The very urban looking hotel seems to blends a sort of Dutch and Berlin kind of interior design – raw industrial design. The Volkshotel is for everyone – freely translated as `Hotel for the People`.
In the basement of the building you’ll find DOKA, a place where you can drink pretty damn good cocktails, dance till late at night, enjoy performances, exhibitions and much more. At the highest level you will find Canvas, a restaurant and club with serious appeal. Also, the restaurant features a stunning view over the city.
